A little burst of Bardolino

Spring has sprung and sitting in the warmth of the sun on my balcony this evening I imagined the glistening blue waters of Lake Garda as I watched the world go by … a slight difference from my apartment’s balcony (which I love) but the River Lea doesn’t have quite the same impact!

Wine Wednesday was the perfect reason to forget an evening run and open a bottle of Bardolino ‘Naiano’ 2014 from Majestic Wine. The wine is light in colour yet full of flavour, bursting with the taste of cherry, it matches perfectly with olives, light bites or a simple spring pasta.

The Naiano is part of the Allegrini Group Estate;  a 33-hectare Estate in the heart of Bardolino Classico, located close to the morainal hills of Lake Garda and with southerly exposure allowing the grapes to ripen over a longer period at cool temperatures with excellent sun exposure. Blended grapes of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara.

The result, this wonderfully light, easy to drink Italian classic red wine.
